Schedule and Deliverables

The total length of the 2013-14 edition of the GIM was 15 weeks, however, not all students began and finished the module at the same time. Both the start and finish dates of the GIM were staggered to accommodate to the varying academic calendars of the four participating business schools. The module was thus divided into three main phases.

Phase 1 and 2 involved the participation of students from NYU Stern and ESADE Business Schools who were the first to begin the module, approximately two weeks prior to their teammates from SDA Bocconi and Sogang University. Phase 1 served as a general introduction to the module during which students were asked to familiarize themselves with the virtual platform. Phase 2 served as an opportunity for participants to begin background research and planning. ESADE students, during this phase, worked in intra-university teams on the following preliminary deliverables that were later shared with their international teams:

Table 10. Phase 1 Deliverables Edition 2013-2014
First draft of Team Strategy Plan First draft of tasks to be fulfilled
First proposal of role-definition & task proposal
First proposal of work plan
First proposal of book of agreements (i.e. rules agreed upon as a group for efficient teamwork)
First draft of Landscape Mapping Visual mapping of sectors or companies in relation to equality issues (research).

Phase 3 saw the incorporation of the remaining participants and the formation of the international teams that students would work in to address the challenge presented by the module. The resolution of the challenge was broken down into different deliverables (detailed below), some designed to provide data regarding students’ performance and others designed to provide qualitative feedback from students regarding their learning experience. Only the former where graded.
